In attendance:  Pete Iurato, Bill Seeger, Tom Atherton, Bob Elwell, Maureen McDade, Dennis Crowley, Bill Murray.

 Observation: although a small decline in year over year students the Coast Guard continues to drive student attendance.
 
TPA Scholarship
The meeting was dominated by discussion and approval of an amended application and criteria for the TPA’s first year $1000 scholarship for a graduating senior. Key points discussed and finalized:

  • Applicants must be full time resident of Cape May City
  • Available to graduating senior from any accredited High School
  • Judging to be conducted by TPA board at May 16 board meeting
  • Details pertaining should recipient come from Coast Guard including the need to not return financial award should residency be affected by parental transfer once funds are distributed.
  • Dennis Crowley volunteered to write and distribute a news release to publicly announce and post on TPA web site.  Bill Seeger will serve as contact person should applicants have any questions and distribute and pick up applications to the various high school guidance office.
  • If welcome we will make every effort to be present at any school awards ceremony.


Pete Iurato announced resignation from position of Treasurer effective with TPA annual organization meeting but will remain as board member.  We must now seek a volunteer from current board for Treasurer – discuss at April board meeting.
