FYI: Ordinances will be on the agenda for 2 readings and advertised in the paper.  At the second reading there is open public comment.  Resolutions are voted on the same night they are on the agenda and do not need to be advertised in the paper.
 
Ordinances for Second Reading and Adoption:
608-2026 Ordinance Amending Bond Ordinance 536-2024, Heretofore Finally Adopted by the City Council of the City of Cape May, in the County of Cape May, State of New Jersey, to Amend Certain Descriptions Set Forth Therein
-              This is administrative paperwork that lets the city use previously approved bond money as the local match for the state boardwalk grant and related beach improvements.
 
PUBLIC HEARING
 
609-2026 Ordinance Amending Zoning Code Regarding Minimum and Maximum Roof Pitch Requirements -The following statement that is being added:
 Notwithstanding the foregoing, for development applications in the Historic District, the Historic Preservation Commission ("HPC") may approve a roof pitch for any residential structure, including any addition thereto or accessory structure, that is less than or greater than the roof pitch otherwise permitted by this subsection, provided that the HPC determines that such roof pitch is appropriate to the historic character of the property and the surrounding district. Any roof pitch approved by the HPC shall be deemed compliant with this subsection, and no variance from the requirements of this subsection shall be required.

           -Changes to the 2026 Budget because the City executed a cleaning contract to clean the public bathrooms.  This resolution moves funding from salaries to other expenses to cover the cleaning contract.
-              $55,000 funding moved to cover cleaning the contract from salaries & wages
